Principal's Message

July 2026

Dear Trojan Family,

I can’t believe it’s almost time to start the 2026-2027 school year! I look forward to another year working with all of you to celebrate the legacy of Foothill High and build on the many great programs and activities that makes our school second to none.

To our students—if you are joining us as the Class of 2030, welcome to the first of what we hope will be many great years as a Trojan. We are also excited to celebrate in the success and growth of those of you returning as sophomores, juniors, and seniors as you explore new challenges and opportunities on campus. Specifically for the Class of 2027, we look forward to helping you prepare as you embark on new journeys once you graduate from Foothill. Regardless of where you may find yourself on your high school journey, we will continue to uphold Foothill’s mission of creating lifelong learners by providing a safe and inclusive learning environment that prepares all students to be successful at the post-secondary level and in the workplace. By committing to the Trojan values of Focus, Honor, and Success, we hope to support you on your path to success, wherever that may take you.

To our parents and guardians—ensuring your students’ successes is a collaborative effort, and we at Foothill encourage you to become involved in the Foothill community to help your students be successful Trojans. You can do this by working closely with the teachers, counselors, and other support staff to ensure success in the classroom. You can also encourage your students to get involved with various activities, athletics, and clubs that Foothill has to offer. We also hope you become involved in our parent booster group, Trojan Link; become a member of our School Site Council; or attend the variety of different parent meetings we host both during and after school throughout the year. By continuing to make connections with the dedicated teachers, counselors, support staff, and administrators at Foothill, we can continue to foster our common goal of seeing our students be high-level achievers who utilize relevant technology and critical thinking skills to make positive contributions to our society.

As we begin another school year on August 12th, we hope you experience the Latin phrase you are also able to find on our seal, Gaudium Eruditionis, or the joy of learning. The Trojan Legacy is special and unique, and we are so glad that you are a part of our family this coming year. We hope to make this year the best one yet.

Fight on, Trojans!

Sincerely,

Sydney A. Peterson, Ed.D.
