COVID-19 Updates & Information - Updated 3/25/2020

Students: Please access the VIRTUAL TUTORING schedule using the following link: Students can also get the Microsoft Teams' app on a tablet or smartphone, or can go to on either a desktop or laptop. Use your school email address to log-on.

Because of the COVID-19 health crisis, Kern High School District school sites will be closed to students until Tuesday, May 5, 2020. All schools (with the exception of ROP, TDS, Vista, & Vista West) operated by KHSD will serve “grab and go” meals between the hours of 11:00 am to 12:30 pm Monday through Friday. ROP/TDS, Vista & Vista West students may pick up their meals at the school site closest to them. Students can either receive meals at the drive-through location established at the bus-loading zone or walk to the pick-up location to receive lunch and breakfast for the following day. If driving, we ask that parents and students remain in their vehicles while Nutrition Services distributes meals to each child in the car. Students need to be present to receive their meals. ** Please note there will not be meal service on Friday, April 10 or Monday, April 13. **

School site offices will also be closed through May 1 & will be very minimally staffed. Please call the school site number available on the KHSD website if you need to request assistance. This number is also posted on the front entry to the school site.

If you have questions concerning current school closures, please email them to We will continue to keep you updated as new information comes in.

Chromebook Check Out Info

Chromebook checkout will begin on Monday (3/30).

It is NOT necessary to call in order to get a chromebook.

You MUST have a parent/guardian with you to check one out and have an ID (last resort you can use your synergy ID on your phone but it is best to have your real student ID).
Bring something to write with!

The checkout schedule is as follows:

Pick up times will be from 8am to 12pm.

Monday - Seniors
Tuesday - Juniors
Wednesday- Sophomores
Thursday - Freshmen

How it will work:

Enter the parking lot by the cafeteria and drive around to the south side of the building (dean’s office).

A campus supervisor will give you a form to fill out.

You will follow the leader in your vehicle until you get to a pickup sport where ONLY the student will exit with a completed and signed form.

There will be a window where someone will take your completed form, check your ID, and hand you a Chromebook.

A counselor will then scan the device into your synergy account.

All staff members who will come in contact with students and parents will have masks, gloves and glasses.

** At this time, you can also bring any completed packet work you have to be dropped off for your teacher. Make sure your name and your teacher’s name is clearly written.
